About Me

In 2008 I went off to Vermont to go to college. I graduated in 2012, with a degree in Environmental Humanities, having studied sustainable agriculture and natural history. Also having fallen in love with Vermont. Before and after college, I was/am a farmer. Currently, I am living in southern Ontario, not farming, but instead writing (about farming and related subjects), working, teaching fiber crafts to young and old, exploring, making things, hiking, biking, camping, and always exploring. I’m originally from Germany, so between times I make forays to the old world, which includes spending time on a mountain farm high up in the Swiss Alps. I went to an awesome college: Sterling College. You can find my writing in Taproot Magazine, Pure Green Magazine, The Greenhorns’ New Farmers Almanac (2013), and the Small Farmers Journal. Thanks for visiting. xo

  1. Schirin, looking forward to following your updates. Keep the posts coming!
I can’t get over the fact that your Grandfather is agile enough to ride a bike for an extended period of time! Enjoy those precious moments together – I think you’ll cherish them more so when he is no longer around to share them with you, no?
    Happy studies you lucky one!

  2. Schirin, my darling, keep writing and exploring!
    Miss you!

  3. Hey Schirin! Your blog posts and writing style are fascinating, keep up the good work 🙂 You may not remember me but we were old friends back at Elgin Street Public School. Take care, Julia Inglis
